Relevant Project Experience
Communications Rooms Audits

Sam has led on a strategic piece of work for Manchester City Council ICT department auditing the communications rooms and facilities of the council properties. The project consisted of organising meetings to assess all of the communication equipment in buildings that contain council staff across the whole of Greater Manchester, collating this information in the form of a database. The culmination of this project was a strategic report of the state of the communications equipment along with suggested improvements to every location. Within this report, there was a suggested view of how communications rooms of varying size should look.

Peter House

Sam led on the project to relocate the Manchester City Council legal department from the Old Town Hall to Peter House. This project required significant change management skills as the relocation resulted in large changes in working practices. The location of Peter House was chosen and Strata, led by Sam, managed the procurement, implementation and testing of a new IT infrastructure for multiple floors of the new location.

Manchester Foundation Trust

Strata were asked to manage the upgrade of the critical bleep system for the Manchester Foundation Trust. Sam managed the installation and testing of two radio transmitters at Trafford General Hospital along with the infrastructure to support them.

Sam has also managed the implementation and testing of a new telephony system within multiples departments of the Manchester Foundation Trust, resulting in significant savings to the Trust along with an improved user experience.

Town Hall Decant

Sam has led on a number of decants, of high profile member of the council, out of the Manchester Town Hall to various other buildings around Manchester. Some of these included the Lord Mayor, Chief Executives and MP’s within the council. In each case, a new network needed to be procured, implemented and tested as well as the relocation of all of the equipment to the new office. After each move, IT support was offered, along with an extensive logs of issues and lessons learned.
